VINCENT KENNEDY, 32, was killed when Vauxhall Vectra he was traveling in collided head on with a Honda CRV A85 near Oban, Argyll.
A part-time soldier and father of three, was named as the victim of a puzzle that also killed a retired and wounded his partner, two children and other adults.
Vincent Kennedy, 32, of Hazeldean growing in Oban, was a part-time soldier in the Territorial Army Delta Company 7 Scots, Royal Regiment of Scotland.
He was a passenger in a Vauxhall Vectra collided head-on with a Honda CRV on the A85 near Oban, Argyll, on Thursday evening.
Mary Gillies, 74, of Grant Place in Claggan, near Fort William, was a passenger in the Honda, and also died in the jigsaw.
32-year-old partner of Mr. Kennedy, who was driving the Vectra, was taken to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, where she remains in critical condition but stable.
His children, aged 14, five and two years, were treated for minor injuries and held overnight in Oban Hospital and has been released.
51-year-old woman driver of the Honda, and a female passenger of 49 years were also treated for minor injuries at Oban Hospital and released. Second passenger of the Honda, a woman of 46 years, remains in hospital.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident or saw the cars before the incident to come forward.
